She belongs to Punjab and was raised in Chandigarh. She fell in love with the director of her first film, Anil Mattoo, whom she eventually married.[1] She later acted in some Punjabi and Kannada films and Hindi TV serials. She was one of the leading actresses in Punjabi movies since the mid-2000s.
