The Sen Family, which has become Sen Gharana on their own Rights, has the distinction of being in Musical field and focus for the last six decades. Late Jamal Sen, the father of Dilip Sen the recognised Radio Artist, and after singing the first revolutionary song Vande Maataram, he was enlisted in The most Wanted list of Rebels during British Raj, before partition. He is the man who became instrumental to bring Ghulam Haider in Mumbai during 1935 He had been closely associated to top most Indian leaders like Subhash Chandra Bose, Shri Lal Bhadur Shastri, Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru etc. Ultimately he joined the rank of top music directors by giving the musical score to the films like Kedar Sharma’s Shukriya, Bhagwan Dada’s Rangeela, Amar Shaheed of Madras, Kamal Amrohi’s Daira, Patit Pawan, Manchali, Dharam Patni, and many more.
The son of Jamal Sen, was Shambhu Sen, the father of Sameer Sen. He was the top Choreographer and has the credit of being the teacher of top dancers like Hema Malini, Yogita Bali, Sarika, Laxmi Chhaya Manisha and Sujata etc.
Now Dilip Sen, the son of Jamal Sen and Sameer Sen, the son of Shambhu Sen, the Chacha Bhatija team of music directors, are creating musical waves under their banner of Dilip Sen - Sameer Sen, as Music Director.
